Turning Cement Kiln Dust into Sustainable Strength
CKD is a fine, powdery material, often gray or tan, that is a byproduct of the cement manufacturing process. It’s composed of micron-sized particles collected from electrostatic precipitators during clinker production. CKD is primarily made up of partially calcined and unreacted raw feed, clinker dust, and volatile compounds like alkali sulfates, halides, and other volatile compounds.
